The inspector Octopus received a strange invitation:

Dear inspector Octopus,

Our wedding will be hold at the Ridge Hotel in Mariana Trench on October 25th. It will be great honor to have you there.

Yours the Eels

As we all know, the Mariana Trench is the deepest place on the earth and it’s even big enough to put Mount Everest upside down. Who would hold a wedding in that place? Besides, who on earth are the eels? In his life, the inspector Octopus had never known the creature named Eel, he didn’t know that kind of creature even existed.

 "Maybe it’s a trap." The sergeant Squid said. "You have made a lot of enemies after so many years of investigation! I remember you arrested several criminals in the Mariana Trench many years ago. Holding a wedding in such a remote place now must be a trap to have you murdered! As for the Eels, it’s definitely a random fake name, we have never heard of a fish called eel."

But the inspector Octopus was so curious, he really wanted to know what this weird wedding was all about. So he set off without telling the sergeant Squid. After a long journey, he arrived at the Ridge Hotel just on time.

Once the small and ruined Ridge Hotel had been refurbished, and the inspector Octopus looked around. Suddenly a voice came from behind: "Thank God, inspector Octopus, you made it on time. I’ve thought you wouldn’t come!" Two silver slender fish swimming towards the inspector Octopus excitedly, their appearance is similar to the inspector Octopus’s good friend, Moray.

The eel couple were born and raised here. More than ten years ago, the inspector Octopus arrested a jellyfish that had escaped from prison in the Mariana Trench. If the inspector Octopus hadn't appeared in time, the venomous tentacles of the jellyfish would have caught Miss Eel, who was thin like a willow leaf back then.

"Inspector Octopus, thank you for saving my wife!" Mr. Eel said gratefully, "I hope you can be a witness for our wedding!"

"Ah, it's a great honor!" the inspector Octopus said happily. Then he asked: "I wonder why I never knew you and your kind. I should have known the entire ocean."

"Of course you don't know us," the Eel couple laughed. "It didn't take long for our eels to hatch, and then we set off to the land. Then, we went upstream and grew up in freshwater until we became adult. After then, we returned to the sea again and came to the Mariana Trench to thrive. For us, the sea means the beginning and the end."

The wedding began, and the inspector Octopus stood in front of the couple to witness their marriage with a relaxed smile. No conspiracy, no tricks, it turned out this is a happy reunion!
